Military Relocation in Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs is home to a few different military installations, making our population unique in that people come from all over with many different backgrounds and experiences providing our town with a true specialness that most cities lack. If you head to the north side of the city, you’ll find the United States Air Force Academy. The Academy is open to the public with many activities for everyone to enjoy. Perhaps most known, the Chapel soars 150 to the sky and provides a place of worship for the cadets of the academy. It houses four major faiths so people from several different religious backgrounds can use the Chapel as they need. While the chapel is currently undergoing construction for renovations and is not currently open to the public, there is still plenty of other things to see and do while visiting the U.S. Air Force Academy. While on the installation, you can check out the USAA Planetarium, several overlooks of the beautiful surrounding Colorado area, several hiking and biking trails and so much more.
Ft. Carson is the Army base that is located on the south side of Colorado Springs. Here, you’ll find the base covers roughly 137,000 acres and is home to hundreds of families and soldiers. As you head more east of the city, you’ll find Peterson Air Force Base and Schriever Air Force Base. In fact, they have an agreement with the city to use their runways for our very own airport allowing visitors from all over the world to fly into Colorado Springs.
The military presence in Colorado Springs keeps growing each year. While many of the installations are closed to the public for the safety of our soldiers and airmen, the city of Colorado Springs can still support our military and their families by giving them a place to call home while they are stationed in our beautiful city.
