Colorado Adventures for Adrenaline Junkies
If you’re an adrenaline junkie and crave adventure, Colorado is the perfect spot for you! Whether you’re into the intense hiking trails, or swinging across the royal gorge, there are plenty of Colorado adventures for adrenaline junkies!
Some of these events may only be available at certain times of the year depending on the season such as skiing, Monarch Mountain offers great slopes, but if you prefer the triple diamond on a different slope, check out all the skiing the Colorado Rockies have to offer.
The Royal Gorge is a beautiful spot for you and your friends to adventure over a weekend. If you’re feeling extra dangerous, you can swing across the gorge on their famous Royal Rush Skycoaster and experience the thrill of a lifetime.
The Royal Gorge also has their Cloudscraper Zip Line which is actually America’s highest zip line and is The Travel Channel’s #1 Colorado Bucket List experience!
White Water Rafting and Cliff Diving
Also offered in a neighboring area is white water rafting, an experienced guide will take you through a river, and you can make your way through some intense rapids. Cliff diving is always on the list of to-do’s for an adventure enthusiast, stop by Paradise Cove, but beware the water is freezing!
Cave of the winds is another must-stop, you can do the Haunted Lantern Tour during Halloween, and the Terror-Dactyl throughout the year. The Terror-Dactyl ride is located high 200 feet up at the top of Williams Canyon in Manitou Springs and drops at nearly 100 mph and over 150 feet down into the canyon!
If you drive a bit further, you’ll find a beautiful small Colorado town named Telluride. Telluride offers amazing skiing slopes, but it also has the Via Ferrata. You’ll be clipped into the side of the mountain, and have to journey your way to the opposite side, but the heights here are intimidating, so I would recommend this to an experienced climber.
The Royal Gorge also has a Via Ferrata!
If you enjoy outdoor climbing, Red Rock Canyon Open Space is perfect for you, they have pre-set routes for you, or you can make your own, I would recommend bringing a friend or two with you anytime you go.
