The libraries in Colorado Springs work to serve the community and offer a unique range of resources, programs, and services. With over 10 libraries available for you to choose from, we’re sure you’ll find a library that suits your needs.
Libraries in Northern Colorado Springs
There are three libraries in Northern Colorado Springs. You’ll find one in Palmer Lake, one in Monument, and one in the Briargate area.
Palmer Lake Library
The Palmer Lake Library is closed from Saturday to Tuesday. Their open hours are Wednesday to Friday, 10:00am to 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 6:00pm.
Monument Library
The Monument Library is closed on Sundays. Their open hours are Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 7:00pm and Friday and Saturday from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
Library 21c
Library 21c is located in the Briargate area. They’re closed on Sundays, and their open hours are Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 8:00pm and Friday and Saturday from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
Library 21c also offers a variety of resources that you won’t find at other libraries! They have makerspaces that offer access to 3D printers, laser engraving and cutting machines, sewing machines, and assorted handicraft and art tools. Library 21c also has studios available for use to record. In these spaces, you’ll have access to DSLR cameras, digital audio workstations, isolated sound booths, microphones, musical instruments, professional-grade lighting and video cameras, and a green screen! Central Colorado Springs Library
Near more central Colorado Springs, you’ll find the East Library. The East Library is closed on Sundays, and their open hours are Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 8:00pm and Friday and Saturday from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
This library is unique because it includes an Educational Resource Center available to those looking to enrich educational knowledge and skills. Math, science, social studies, language arts kits and art and music resources are available to library card holders. Reservations are required in 1-2 hour time slots. Libraries in Western Colorado Springs
There are five libraries in Western Colorado Springs. You’ll find one in Cascade, Manitou Springs, Old Colorado City, Downtown Colorado Springs, and in the Broadmoor area.
Ute Pass Library
The Ute Pass Library located in Cascade, Colorado is closed Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday. Their open hours are Monday and Thursday from 10:00am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 6:00pm. On Friday and Saturday, they’re open from 9:00am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
Manitou Springs Library
The library in Manitou Springs is closed on Sundays, and their open hours are Monday to Thursday from 10:00am to 6:00pm and Friday and Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
The Manitou Springs Library is also partnered with a Seed Library that offers the community vegetable, herb, and native seeds, seed saving skills, and pollinator education to growers and residents. Click here to go to their Facebook where they post updates and events.
Old Colorado City Library
The Old Colorado City Library is closed on Sundays, and their open hours are Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 7:00pm and Friday and Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. This library is special because it was founded in 1895. Click here to learn more about the history of the Old Colorado City Library.
Penrose Library (Downtown Colorado Springs)
The Penrose Library located in Downtown Colorado Springs is closed on Sundays, and their open hours are Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 7:00pm and Friday and Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. The Penrose Library offers a collection of federal, state, and local legal materials. Trained librarians are available to assist you with your research. In addition to this, The Penrose Library has a collection of regional history and genealogy available to the public.
Cheyenne Mountain Library
The Cheyenne Mountain Library located in the Broadmoor area is closed on Sundays, and their open hours are Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 7:00pm and Friday and Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Libraries in Eastern Colorado Springs
In eastern Colorado Springs and east of Colorado Springs, there are three libraries available. You’ll find one in Falcon, one off of East Platte, and one near the Colorado Springs airport.
High Prairie Library
The High Prairie Library located in Falcon is closed on Sundays and has walk-in hours and window pickup hours. Walk-in open hours are Monday and Tuesday from 9:00am to 7:00pm, Wednesday to Friday from 9:00am to 6:00pm, and Saturday from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Their window pickup hours are Monday and Tuesday from 8:00am to 6:30pm, Wednesday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:30pm, and Saturday from 10:00am to 5:30pm.
The High Prairie Library offers a Seed Library to encourage a thriving community of gardeners, from beginner to expert, through the process of growing, harvesting and seed saving/sharing.
Ruth Holley Library
The Ruth Holley Library is located off of East Platte. They’re closed on Sundays and open Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 7:00pm and Friday and Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Sand Creek Library
The Sand Creek Library is located near the Colorado Springs airport. They’re closed on Sundays and open Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 7:00pm and Friday and Saturday from 10:00am to 6:00pm.

Southern Colorado Springs Library
There is a library in Fountain that is closed on Sundays and is open Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 7:00pm and Friday and Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
